Exploring the Future of Cultural Heritage Through Data
The InDICEs Bootcamp aims to bring together 30 professionals and practitioners working at the intersection of data, digital praxis, and cultural heritage to explore and experiment with how data can inform the future of digital cultural heritage. Together with DigitalFems, DataForGoodBCN, and various actors from GLAM institutions three ‘flash task forces’ made of up 6 individuals will work on different thematic areas from gender inequality in CHIs to digital participation in GLAMs.
The bootcamp will take place the 23-25 of november in Barcelona at the Canodrom. Organizations such as DigitalFems (develops projects based on data science with a gender perspective applied to different topics, DataForGoodBCN (a collective of do gooders that help other not for profit, and non-governmental, organizations harness the power of their data), and Wikimedians will participate. They will share their expertise with participants to develop lines of investigation to envision the future of how the digital, cultural, and data can support a more plural, innovative, and egalitarian platform for cultural heritage. Additionally, the bootcamp will also present and open up the InDICEs platform to a wider public to share its aims and create new networks for more public engagement around digital cultural heritage.
