Cutting a video is one of the most common tasks in video editing, and with the Videoleap app, you can do it easily and quickly. Whether to remove unnecessary parts or adjust the length, the process is intuitive and accessible for any user, from beginners to more advanced editors.
Here, we will explain in detail how to cut a video in Videoleap, providing you with a step-by-step guide so you can perform this action effectively and optimise the content of your videos.
How to cut a video in Videoleap?
Cutting a video in Videoleap is simple and straightforward. This feature allows you to shorten the clip duration, removing unwanted parts from the beginning, the end, or even specific sections of the video.
Below, we explain the steps in detail to achieve this:
Step 1: Open Videoleap and select your video
First, open the Videoleap app on your mobile device and select the project you want to work on. If you haven’t yet imported the video you want to cut, you can do so by tapping the “+” icon and choosing the file from your gallery. Videoleap supports a wide variety of formats, ensuring that you can edit regardless of the video type.
Additional tip:
If you want to work with multiple clips at once, you can import them all into the same project and then cut them individually.
Step 2: Access the timeline
Once you’ve imported your video, it will appear in the timeline at the bottom of the screen. The timeline is where you’ll manage and adjust the clip’s duration.
This is where you can begin the cutting process, adjusting both the beginning and end of the video or selecting specific parts you want to cut.
Additional tip:
If you’re working with a long video, you can zoom in or out of the timeline view by pinching the screen. This will allow you to make cuts more precisely.
Step 3: Use the trimming handles
To start cutting, simply tap the clip in the timeline. You’ll see handles appear at both ends of the video. These handles are the tools you’ll use to trim. Drag the left handle to the right to remove the parts at the beginning that you don’t need, or drag the right handle to the left to trim the end.
How to cut parts from the middle?
If you want to remove a specific section from the middle of the video, you’ll need to split the clip. To do this, select the exact point on the timeline where you want the cut to start and tap the "Split" option. Then repeat this process at the point where you want the part to end. Once you’ve split the video into three parts, select the middle section and delete it.
Step 4: Adjust the video duration
After trimming the parts you don’t want, review the video’s duration in the top bar. Videoleap will automatically show you the final duration of the trimmed clip. If you’re satisfied with the adjustments, you can proceed to save or continue editing the video.
Additional tip:
Always review the video before saving the changes. Videoleap allows you to preview the result in real-time, making it easier to ensure that the cut is exactly as you want it.
How to export a trimmed video in Videoleap?
Once you’ve finished trimming your video, it’s time to export it. Videoleap offers you several export options, depending on the quality and format you need. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Tap the export button
When you’re happy with the final result of your trimmed video, tap the export button located in the upper-right corner of the screen. A menu with different export settings will open.
Step 2: Choose the export quality
Videoleap allows you to choose from several resolutions and frame rates. Depending on your purpose, you can select between 720p, 1080p, or even 4K. If you only need the video for social media or to share it via messages, a lower resolution will suffice. If you plan to use the video for professional purposes, we recommend choosing the highest quality option available.
Additional tip:
Also consider the frames per second (FPS). For most videos, 30 FPS is suitable, but if you’re working with content that has a lot of movement, like sports or fast action, you may prefer to export at 60 FPS for greater smoothness.
Step 3: Save the video to your gallery or share it directly
Once you’ve set the export quality, tap "Save". Videoleap will save the file to your photo gallery. If you’d rather share it directly on social media such as Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok, Videoleap also allows you to do so from the app itself, saving you time and simplifying the process.
Other useful features when cutting a video in Videoleap
Videoleap not only allows you to cut videos, but also offers additional tools that you can combine to enhance your editing. Some features you can take advantage of while cutting include:
Speed adjustment
After trimming your video, you can change the speed of some sections to add a dynamic effect. For example, you could slow down a part to highlight an important moment or speed it up to give a sense of fast movement.
Transitions
If you’ve trimmed several sections of a video, you can add transitions between clips to make the change smoother. Videoleap offers a wide range of transitions you can use to give your project a professional touch.
Filters and colour adjustments
Once you’ve trimmed your video, consider applying some filters or adjusting the lighting and colour to give it a more polished look. Videoleap allows you to do all this without leaving the app, making the entire editing process easier.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to trim a video in Videoleap precisely and effectively, improving the quality of your projects with ease. Make the most of all the features the app has to offer and take your videos to the next level.
