How can impact assessment support the sector to be more impactful in a time of Covid-19 and social justice movements?

We’ll present the Europeana Impact Playbook and some case studies where digital cultural heritage has been shown to drive areas of social change: e.g. building digital skills, generating new knowledge, and creating an increased feeling of connection to others.

In collaborative breakout groups that use the new Indices participatory platform, we’ll consider some big questions:

  1. Do we know enough about the impact of digital cultural heritage and how it drives social change?

  2. What’s missing from our narration of our impact?

  3. How do we engage the general public more to hear from them what value digital cultural heritage creates?

  4. How can we bring the sector together to talk about its impact in a unified way?

  5. How can we strengthen the message and the response to this by policy makers and the general public?

How can impact assessment support the sector to be more impactful in a time of Covid-19. AGENDA

Intro  [ 13:00 - 13:10]

Breakout Groups  [ 13:10 - 13:35]

  • Group 1: Understanding the impact of the heritage sector. How can we narrate impact in a unified way when the sector is so diverse and speaks different languages (linguistically and conceptually)?
  • Group 2: Understanding the impact of the heritage sector. How do we engage the general public more to hear from them what value digital cultural heritage creates?
  • Group 3: Understanding the impact of the heritage sector. How can the sector come together to understand its total impact?
  • Group 4: Influencing policy change - communicating our impact to stakeholders. Who needs to know about the value of digital cultural heritage? How do we share it with them? What would work best?
  • Group 5: Influencing policy change - communicating our impact to stakeholders. What do our stakeholders have to know? What’s missing from our narration of impact?

Reporting Back from the Breakout Groups  [ 13:35 - 13:40]

Envision the Future  [ 13:40 - 13:45]
