Transforming Digital Tools for CHIs
This an interactive tool and platform where you can learn how to convert your digital ambitions into a successful strategy. You can find useful examples, information and tutorials that will help you find the best way to make the digital environment work for you, your co-workers and your audiences. Through interactive forms we guide you to assess and plan for the level of digital transformation you would like to achieve. Of course, these ambitions depend on your own organisation, its scale and its mission: there is no “one size fits all” in digital transformation.
The survey sets out to give you a rounded perspective of what digital transformation in cultural heritage looks like - the many components possible. This is a learning experience in itself, and something you can use for planning.
In time, we plan that this is also an opportunity for you to meet like-minded people who are, each in their own institutions, working on digital strategies and plans. This way, this platform is also meant as a hub to exchange insights, share best practices and provide peer support.
COVID accelerated a rethinking of activities in the GLAM sector and a rush to capitalise on digital tools that help create meaningful digital connections with audiences. Yet without an integrated digital strategy and longer-term capacity building, heritage organisations may end up with lots of loose ends and no clear steps forward. This is an opportunity to reflect on and assess one’s own position and to benefit from proven best practice in the heritage sector.
We welcome institutions to complete this questionnaire on an iterative basis to help you plan and monitor your progress in digital transformation. If you’re writing a digitisation strategy, then you’ll get an overview of the areas you need to include and be directed to relevant resources. Even if you are not at the stage of writing your strategy, you might want to stay informed on Digital Transformation issues in the sector and be connected to professionals in the process of tackling these issues.
